Moving Houses
Prose poem
A neighborhood full of houses decide to move. They pack their living rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, and closets into large boxes. They bid farewell to each other before heading off in opposite directions, their boxes of rooms in tow.
The houses leave behind their families who squat on the empty lots where their dwellings once stood with all their furniture and belongings surrounding them. They sit and await the day new houses move in to shelter them.
