Now Available: “Jesus in the Mire” by Rob Ramirez
As of today, Rob Ramirez’s second story is now available on Godless.com.
“Alone and afraid, Anthelme knows he can't hide from what lay in wait beneath the waters forever.”
I think it’s an excellent and creepy piece of surreal horror, but I’m biased because I edited and published the thing. Decide for yourself.
The Return of Brief Thoughts
Over at my blog, I have brief reviews of Dead Men’s Trousers by Irvine Welsh and Mayhem at the Museum by Regina Watts.
In Uterus in Print
In Uterus, a charity anthology I was published in that was originally ebook only is now in print.
One Year of Music is Over!
It’s been a little over a year since my third novel, Music is Over!, was published. It’s a book that went through a journey almost as winding as the one Juntaro, the main character, takes in the book.
Originally, it was written for an online workshop, the same one where I conceived the idea for my second, Elaine. I ended up writing Music is Over! first, making it my second written, but it wouldn’t be published until after Elaine. I sent it to several publishers, mostly horror and bizarro ones, but none of them were interested.
Then I sent it to a brand new press called Malarkey Books and, to be honest, I completely forgot I had sent it until the editor, Alan, got back to me later interested in publishing it. He helped whip the book into the shape it is now. He hooked me up with an amazing cover artist, Mark Wilson, who made a perfect cover for it. With his help, I even got the blessing of the real life Juntaro Yamanouchi to put the book out.
In that year, while it’s hardly been a best-seller, it’s done much better than I expected a book this weird and esoteric to do. Almost everyone who’s read it has also had nothing but positive things to say.
Malarkey’s also put out several great books since then and Juntaro has been pretty productive as well.
Thank you to everyone who’s read it and who’s reviewed it.
If you haven’t gotten it, pick it up at the Malarkey Bookstore for only $10.
What’s the Punchline?
The Aristrocrats Joke Anthology is now available for pre-order on Amazon Kindle.
If you want a dead tree version, you’ll need to wait for the release date of March 28th. Prepare to laugh until you puke, or vice versa.
Coming Soon to a Saturday Morning Near You
While it's been announced before, I wanted to let everyone know who missed it that my fourth novel, Saturday Morning Mind Control, is going to be published through D&T Publishing later this year.
This is a book I’m pretty proud of. Imagine Videodrome meets It mixed in with Y2K Era nostalgia. A young boy discovers that Saturday morning cartoons are driving kids to commit horrible crimes. Who’s causing it? What are their goals? Isn’t going through puberty hard enough on its own without this?
Find out later this year.
Current Projects
These are what I’m currently working on.
Candy Shopping at the End of the World - Rob Ramirez’s first novel. It’s been completed and I edited the first draft. I was originally going to put it out myself, but a couple places came open that I was interested submitting it to, so I’m shopping it around with Rob’s blessing. Should it not find a home, I’ll still be putting it out.
Fatal Spectacles - A working title for a collection of media-themed horror stories. A few are done and most are still in progress.
birthday balloons for a beautiful funeral - A full-length poetry collection in progress. Several poems have been written. A shorter chapbook may come before it from a press if all goes well.

Once again, thank you all for reading.
